ESA BIC Greece (European Space Agency Business Incubation Centre Greece) is ESA’s business incubator in Greece and part of the largest space innovation network in the world. Its primary objective is to strengthen the Greek space ecosystem by supporting five new space-related startups every year, either by enabling the transfer of space technologies to non-space markets (spin-off) or by helping innovative companies become suppliers to the space sector (spin-in). The programme offers a comprehensive incubation and support package combining business coaching, technical expertise, networking, access to funding opportunities, and legal and commercial support, helping startups accelerate technology development and progress from business idea to commercialisation. ESA BIC Greece also contributes to national innovation and space strategies by promoting the uptake of space-based services, facilitating technology transfer to and from the space sector, fostering entrepreneurship, and supporting job creation and economic growth. ESA BIC Greece is operated by Corallia, a unit of the Athena Research Center, with the support of the Greek Ministry of Digital Governance and a broad network of more than 70 organisations from industry, academia, research, finance and the wider innovation ecosystem.

Strategic Priorities: ESA BIC Greece’s strategic priorities focus on strengthening the Greek space ecosystem through the creation and growth of high-potential space-related startups, supporting both the transfer of space technologies into non-space markets (spin-off) and the entry of innovative companies into the space sector (spin-in). The programme prioritises the acceleration of technology and business development, access to finance and investment readiness, commercialisation of space-enabled products and services, and stronger links between startups, research organisations, industry, investors and institutional stakeholders. It also promotes the uptake of satellite data and space-based services, technology transfer to and from the space sector, internationalisation and participation in the wider ESA and European space innovation networks. Through these activities, ESA BIC Greece contributes to national innovation and space priorities, entrepreneurial growth, job creation and the long-term competitiveness of the Greek space economy.
Looking for Partnerships: ESA BIC Greece is interested in partnerships with organisations that can support the creation, growth and internationalisation of space-related startups, including corporates, investors, research and academic institutions, technology providers, public authorities, space agencies, incubators and accelerators. Priority areas include technology transfer to and from the space sector, access to technical expertise and testing infrastructure, pilot and demonstration opportunities, customer and supplier introductions, investment and follow-on funding, business development, and international market access. The incubator also welcomes collaborations that strengthen links between startups and the wider Greek and European space ecosystems and create pathways for the commercialisation and scale-up of innovative space technologies, applications and services.

Facilities: ESA BIC Greece provides incubated startups with access to a dedicated business incubation environment operated by Corallia, a unit of the Athena Research Center, including office and meeting facilities, business support infrastructure, mentoring and networking spaces. Through ESA and its national partner network, startups can also access specialised technical expertise, laboratories, testing facilities, research infrastructures and engineering capabilities relevant to the development and validation of space-related technologies.
