Strategic Focus

Strategic Priorities: Commercial release of SK-RAFT on AMD Versal SoC FPGAs and growth of annual subscriptions (Academic, Enterprise and AMD Versal editions). Fault-emulation, radiation-testing and fault-analysis tools for SoC-FPGA applications, covering all memory types (configuration memory, BRAM, flip-flops, LUTRAM). Radiation testing services: planning, execution and analysis of beam campaigns for customers. SK-RAFT – FPGA-in-the-loop fault emulation platform

SK-RAFT is an EDA software platform for FPGA-in-the-loop fault emulation. It reproduces radiation-induced Single Event Upsets (SEUs) directly on the real SoC-FPGA hardware through the standard JTAG debug interface, with no hardware or design modification. SK-RAFT parses the design files to map every addressable region of the device (configuration memory, BRAM, flip-flops, LUTRAM), lets the user define fault campaigns (what to inject, where and how many times), replays recorded radiation or physical fault campaigns, and executes, observes and logs the campaign automatically and deterministically. Who uses it: space, avionics, automotive and HPC teams that need SEU / reliability validation of FPGA designs, from prototypes to engineering and flight models. Key value: test resilience in hours instead of months, find and fix weaknesses early in the design cycle, and reduce expensive beam time – go to the radiation facility once, prepared. Validated in a neutron-beam campaign at ChipIR (ISIS, UK, 2025) and in a full RISC-V (NEORV32) fault-injection campaign. Available as an annual node-locked subscription (Academic, Enterprise and AMD Versal editions) with a free one-month trial.

Radiation Testing Characterisation Campaigns

End-to-end radiation testing services for FPGA-based and embedded systems: test plan and test-vehicle design, preparation of the device under test and of the fault-monitoring set-up, execution of the campaign at proton, heavy-ion or neutron facilities, and post-campaign fault analysis (cross-sections, essential-bit analysis, SEU/SEFI characterisation) with full reporting. Our team has more than 15 years of experience in commercial and academic radiation campaigns worldwide, and uses SK-RAFT to prepare the design before the beam so that the campaign is run once and efficiently. Customers: space system and payload developers, component and IP vendors, research institutes.

Dependability Assessment & Fault-Tolerant Design Services

Dependability assessment of embedded and FPGA-based systems – Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), FMECA and FDIR design – together with fault-tolerance IP cores for SoC FPGAs (e.g. lockstep IP for the dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 of Zynq-7000, Single Event Effect mitigation, configuration-memory scrubbing) and embedded software development with hardware acceleration for space and safety-critical applications. Customers: space system integrators, on-board computer and payload developers, ESA and national space projects. Key value: reliability of COTS SoC-FPGA designs demonstrated with evidence, from early design to qualification.

ESA BIC Greece incubatee (alumni), selected after technical evaluation by ESA. Winner of the ESA EPIC European–Australian Space Start-up Competition 2025 – one of four winners selected from more than 30 candidates (announced July 2025), with sponsored participation in the 76th International Astronautical Congress, Sydney. First spin-off of the University of Piraeus Research Centre (UPRC). SK-RAFT validated at TRL 7–8 in a neutron-beam campaign at ChipIR, ISIS (UK), May 2025, and in ESA projects.
