Strategic Focus
Strategic Priorities: Develop own nanosatellite with in-house designed subsystems. Improve infrastructure and testing facilities towards space-related projects. Expand collaborations in the areas of space applications.
Looking for Partnerships: Entities working in the midstream and downstream domains.
Background
Established: 0000-00-00
Projects & Missions: The research/educational project AcubeSAT is implemented at AUTH and is substantially supported by the Electronics Lab. It is conducted by the student team SpaceDot. It is inextricably linked to the research activity of AUTH and is carried out under the auspices of the Rector of the University, the Research Committee, and ESA. The AcubeSAT project aims to design and implement a nanosatellite based on the CubeSat model and was selected for implementation by ESA as part of its 'Fly Your Satellite! 3' program in January 2020. This AcubeSAT nanosatellite is a 3U CubeSat and aims to perform a biological experiment in space under conditions of cosmic radiation and microgravity. AUTH also participates in the Greek CubeSats In-Orbit Validation Projects program by ESA being the Prime of the consortium of PeakSat nanosatellite. The SpaceDot team has taken over the system engineering aspects of the project, the design, development, and AIV activities.
Key Customers: Some of the research partners of LTSM are Airbus, DLR, Fraunhofer, ESI Group, Hellenic Aerospace Industry, Dassault, EASN, Clean Sky, Bombardier, CIRA, SONACA, LEONARDO, SAAB, SAFRAN, and ALTRAN.
