Details

ODES SPACE is a Greek space-tech spin-out and member of ESA BIC Greece developing a unified Digital Mission Engineering and simulation platform for small-satellite missions. Its modular software suite supports mission analysis, system budgeting, RF interference assessment, subsystem simulation, software/hardware validation and operational preparation through a continuous Digital Twin environment. The technology builds on experience from the Greek National Small Satellite Programme and has already been applied in activities related to Hellenic Space Dawn, DUTHSAT-2, ERMIS and the Greek Earth Observation constellation, positioning ODES SPACE as a specialised provider of mission validation tools for the growing New Space ecosystem.

Strategic Focus

Strategic Priorities: ODES is building a unified, ESA-aligned validation platform that covers the full mission lifecycle, from early concept and mission analysis through detailed design, integration, operations, and disposal. Our near-term focus is completing the remaining platform modules, including the Software Validation Facility for software- and hardware-in-the-loop testing, constellation design and coordination tools, and AI-assisted design optimization. Commercially, we are establishing adoption in Europe first, building on ECSS compliance and institutional heritage from ESA programmes, with expansion into North America to follow. Across all of this, our underlying objective is to reduce mission failure rates in the small satellite sector by making structured, institutional-grade validation accessible to teams working under commercial cost and schedule constraints, and to make end-of-life and deorbit validation a standard part of mission design so that debris-mitigation compliance is demonstrated before launch rather than assessed afterwards. Alongside our commercial activity, we are committed to lasting relationships with universities and research institutions, so that validation rigour becomes part of the standard skillset of the next generation of mission engineers.

Looking for Partnerships: We are interested in working with Mission Control System and ground segment providers on embedded simulation, operator training, and validate-before-execute workflows within operational environments. We also welcome collaboration with satellite platform and subsystem manufacturers on joint model development and hardware-in-the-loop validation of ADCS, power, propulsion, and communication products, and with providers of simulation infrastructure and onboard computer emulation on integration work that extends our software validation capability. Test and validation facilities are a further area of interest, particularly ADCS validation laboratories and environmental and EMC test houses looking to link physical test campaigns to high-fidelity digital predictions. On the operational side, we are open to engagement with constellation operators and Earth observation programmes requiring fleet-level simulation, coverage optimization, and frequency coordination support. Finally, we actively seek partnerships with universities and research consortia for ESA and EU collaborative projects, curriculum integration, and student CubeSat and CanSat programmes, and with system integrators and engineering consultancies interested in using the platform themselves or extending it to their own client networks.
