Details
YLISENSE is a Greek deep-tech company based in Patras, developing materials-intelligence and embedded-AI solutions for high-performance structures. Our mission is to make the manufacture, monitoring and lifecycle management of composite systems more intelligent, efficient and reliable by combining physics-based modelling, sensing, edge computing, artificial intelligence and experimental validation. Our flagship platform, AIR, supports controlled composite curing through process simulation, profile optimisation, real-time monitoring, local operator control and traceable process records. These capabilities support the agile production and validation of carbon-fibre composite components for satellites, launch systems and other NewSpace applications. YLISENSE currently participates in four major European programmes. Through ESA BIC Greece, we are developing and industrialising AIR. We coordinate the Horizon Europe AUREL project as its sole beneficiary, advancing multi-zone infrared curing, digital twins and reinforcement-learning control. In the Horizon Europe Bio.3DGREEN project, we lead work on safe-and-sustainable-by-design, life-cycle assessment, circularity and techno-economic analysis for bio-based graphene-foam components. Through MANTIS, supported under the European Defence Fund MaJoR project, we develop machine-learning-enabled structural assessment, sensor fusion and maintenance decision support for defence composite platforms. Our team combines extensive experience in composite materials, aerostructures, structural health monitoring, smart manufacturing, digital twins and European collaborative research. YLISENSE is also registered with the Hellenic Association of Space Industry and si-Cluster and is listed on ESA Star, ESA Match and Space Tech Dealroom.

International Presence
Strategic Focus
Strategic Priorities: YLISENSE’s strategic priority is to build a leading European capability in the intelligent manufacture, monitoring and lifecycle management of advanced composite structures, with a strong focus on NewSpace applications. The company is industrialising AIR from an integrated laboratory platform into a pilot-validated and certification-ready solution for agile carbon-fibre composite production. Its R&D priorities include multi-zone infrared curing, physics-based digital twins, reinforcement-learning and safety-constrained control, edge AI, sensor integration, traceable process execution and materials-data intelligence. YLISENSE is also expanding its capabilities in structural assessment and predictive maintenance through uncertainty-aware machine-learning models, sensor fusion and human-supervised decision support. Complementary priorities include safe-and-sustainable-by-design methods, life-cycle assessment and costing, circularity tools and techno-economic analysis for advanced materials and manufacturing routes. Growth objectives include establishing industrial and space-sector pilots, progressing CE, quality-management and customer-triggered ECSS readiness, protecting key know-how, strengthening European research and supply-chain partnerships, and converting R&D results into repeatable engineering, validation, software and embedded-system offerings.
Looking for Partnerships: YLISENSE is seeking partnerships across the space and advanced-composites value chain in the following areas: • NewSpace companies, satellite manufacturers, launch-system developers and aerospace suppliers interested in pilot validation of intelligent, energy-aware manufacturing for advanced material components. • Composite-material, prepreg, resin, adhesive and coating suppliers for material characterisation, process-model calibration and development of optimised curing profiles. • Sensor, thermography, dielectric-monitoring, data-acquisition, edge-computing and industrial-automation providers for integrated monitoring and closed-loop process control. • Space and aerospace testing centres, research organisations and specialist laboratories for thermal, mechanical, environmental and non-destructive testing. • Digital-twin, artificial-intelligence and structural-health-monitoring partners for physics-informed modelling, sensor fusion, uncertainty-aware prediction, predictive maintenance and human-supervised decision support. • ECSS, CE, quality-management, cybersecurity and certification specialists supporting product assurance, qualification and market readiness. • Sustainability and circularity partners working on safe-and-sustainable-by-design, life-cycle assessment, life-cycle costing, material passports and circular design for advanced space materials. • Commercial, investment and market-access partners supporting pilot adoption, industrialisation, supply-chain development and international growth. YLISENSE is also interested in joining complementary ESA, Horizon Europe and European Defence Fund consortia where its expertise in composites, embedded AI, digital twins, structural monitoring, circularity and techno-economic assessment can create clear project value.
