The Center for Space Research and Technology (CSRT) of the Academy of Athens is a specialised research unit dedicated to space science, space environment studies, and advanced space-related technologies. Its work covers areas such as solar-terrestrial physics, space plasma, radiation environments, space weather, planetary and heliospheric research, and the development of scientific tools, models and instrumentation relevant to space missions and applications. Through long-standing collaborations with leading international research institutions and space agencies, including ESA and NASA-related activities, CSRT contributes high-level scientific expertise, publications, white papers, conference leadership and research capabilities to the Greek space ecosystem, strengthening Greece’s role in international space science and technology.
Stellar Discoveries P.C. is redefining the future of human space exploration with a ground-breaking combination of planetary science, biochemistry, astrobiology, and advanced engineering. The company has pioneered the study of cosmic radiation and micrometeorite impact-induced soil/dust oxidants, as well as the monitoring and mitigation of their negative effects on astronaut health and space missions, while also leveraging some of them positively. The company produces sensors for monitoring space oxidants and their negative effects on astronaut health (by medical sensors), base stations, spacecraft, rovers, and space habitats, dust filtration systems, water/food supplies, equipment, extraterrestrial life biosignatures, and also on Earth’s space and microsatellite ecosystem. They produce cosmic dusts and environments of all kinds with ultra-high simulation fidelity (in texture, physicochemistry, oxidant activation) to model the negative effects of oxidants on space missions and astronaut health, and also develop antioxidant strategies and dietary supplements for astronauts, and provide research to mitigate the negative effects of oxidants in soils and dusts, as well as of cosmic radiation, on space missions and astronaut health.
