ICEYE is a global leader in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite technology, operating the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation and providing persistent Earth observation and monitoring capabilities in any weather, day or night. Its high-revisit radar imaging supports timely detection of change across the globe, enabling applications in defence and intelligence, disaster response, maritime monitoring, infrastructure monitoring, environmental intelligence and insurance. By combining small, agile SAR satellites with rapid tasking and data delivery, ICEYE helps governments, institutions and commercial customers monitor critical areas, improve situational awareness and make faster, evidence-based decisions.
The Libre Space Foundation (LSF) is a non-profit organization based in Greece, founded in 2014 by the creators of the SatNOGS project. It aims to democratize access to space through the development of open-source hardware and software for satellite missions, ground station networks, and other space technologies. One of LSF’s most significant achievements is its contribution to UPSat, the first-ever satellite built entirely with open-source hardware and software. Developed in collaboration with the University of Patras, UP-Sat was launched in 2017 as part of the international QB50 mission. The satellite was designed from scratch with minimal reliance on commercial off-the-shelf components, adhering to open-source principles un-der CERN-OHLv2 and GNU-GPLv3 licenses. LSF has also made strides in other areas of space technology innovation. It developed SatNOGS, the largest open-source satellite ground station network globally, consisting of over 400 stations across more than 50 countries. This network enables affordable satellite tracking and communication for individuals and organizations worldwide. The foundation’s efforts extend beyond technology to education and community building. By collaborating with universities, research institutions, and international organizations such as the European Space Agency (ESA), LSF promotes knowledge sharing and innovation. Educational initiatives like Cronos—a hybrid-fueled sounding rocket project—illustrate its dedication to inspiring future generations of engineers and scientists while fostering inclusivity in space exploration. Through its pioneering projects like UPSat and SatNOGS, LSF has demonstrated how open-source principles can revolutionize access to space. Its work not only advances technological capabilities but also fosters international collaboration and democratization of space exploration. By prioritizing openness and accessibility, LSF continues to pave the way for a more inclusive future in space science and engineering.
OHB Hellas mon. EPE, a subsidiary of the German multinational technology group OHB SE, has been operating in Greece since July 2018. OHB Hellas is owned 100% by OHB SE. The establishment of this company follows the signed MoU in December 2017 with the Greek State. OHB has responded to the interest of the Greek State to have an experienced and recognised system integrator based in Greece. The objectives and vision of the company are a) to support the Greek space ecosystem with the expertise and strategic advice from a system integrator perspective, b) to design and integrate satellite systems and subsystems in Greece, c) to become a European centre of expertise in high performance data processing subsystems for satellites.
Open Cosmos Aegean is a subsidiary of Open Cosmos Ltd. Open Cosmos Ltd. specializes in providing comprehensive space mission services, focusing on the design, construction, launch, and operation of small satellites. Their offerings are structured into three main areas: Open Orbit (tailored end-to-end satellite mission services, encompassing satellite assembly, integration, testing, launch, in-orbit operations, and data delivery), OpenConstellation (shared satellite infrastructure that enables clients to access diverse and frequent EO data, facilitating insights into global challenges such as climate change and resource management), and DataCosmos (cloud-based platform providing users with access to high-resolution satellite imagery and advanced visualization tools, aiding in informed decision-making across various sectors). By integrating these services, Open Cosmos aims to simplify access to space and deliver valuable satellite data to address pressing global issues.

Thales has been active in Greece for 50 years, expanding its historical presence in defence in the country to cover air traffic control, space, and identity markets as well as cybersecurity. Thales is a long-time supplier of major systems to the Hellenic Armed Forces. In civil markets, Thales has supplied much of the country’s air traffic management systems. Thales Hellas has also developed a local cybersecurity capability thanks to European support programs and the Thales group’s experience in the cyber domain. Thales Hellas Cyber Lab, with its powerful Cyber Range, is available to Greek authorities as well as local universities and competence centres. Thales offers a wide range of space solutions—satellites, ground segment, and end-to-end systems—for telecommunications, navigation, EO, science, and space exploration.
