The General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Post of the Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence plays a central role in Greece’s space activities, coordinating national space policy and programmes, including the National Microsatellite Programme, government satellite infrastructure, secure satellite communications and Greece’s representation in European and international space-related bodies. Through its strategic and supervisory role, the General Secretariat supports the development of national capabilities in Earth Observation, satellite communications, space data services and downstream applications, while helping connect public-sector needs with the capabilities of Greek industry, research organisations and innovation actors. Its work contributes to strengthening Greece’s technological autonomy, resilience and international visibility in the space domain.
The Hellenic Space Center (HSC) is Greece’s national space organisation, operating under the Ministry of Digital Governance & Artificial Intelligence and responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the country’s space policy, programmes and capabilities. HSC promotes Greece’s participation in European and international space activities, supports the national space ecosystem, and contributes to the coordination of projects in areas such as Earth Observation, satellite technologies, secure communications, space science and space applications. Through its role in national space governance and programme coordination, HSC helps connect public authorities, industry, research organisations and international partners, strengthening Greece’s position in the European and global space sector.
