AlongRoute is a deep-tech startup that is transforming marine weather forecasting with AI-powered models, providing data that improves the performance of weather-based routing systems. These systems optimize routes to reduce emissions and improve safety, in line with the IMO decarbonization targets. Current systems achieve only ~3% emissions reductions/voyage because they are hampered by inaccurate forecasts, resulting in misaligned routes and wasted resources. We bridge this gap with extensively vali-dated marine weather forecasts improving accuracy by up to 20%+. Our Mediterranean prototype sup-ports optimization systems with up to 130%+ better routing performance, aligning optimized and actual routes to build captain confidence. By scaling our technology globally, we aim to contribute to net-zero maritime operations, creating safer and greener oceans. We are currently working on scaling within the marine weather intelligence market through validated pilots and high-impact collaborations. We integrate deep-tech with AI-driven marine weather forecasting models, including CNNs, PINNs and setups such as Gradient Boosting. Smart assimilation integrates Earth Observation big data every 3 hours to ensure accu-rate, near real-time forecasts. Efficient models enable 8 cycles/ day at fine resolutions, surpassing tradi-tional systems. Validated vs satellite, buoy and reanalysis data our forecasts outperform widely used data, transforming maritime optimization with unmatched quality.
AviSense.ai is a spin-off of the Research Centre Athena and the University of Patras, dedicated to revolu-tionizing how vehicles interact with drivers. Our vision is to redefine vehicle communication by intro-ducing advanced perception and interaction technologies powered by Extended Reality (XR), enhancing driver awareness. Our mission is to transform Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs) into intelligent driving partners using cutting-edge AI, data fusion, and XR technologies. By enhancing the perception and situational awareness of CAVs, we aim to lead the evolution of smart mobility and set new standards for safety and innovation on the road. We employ cooperative, active, transfer, and federated learning paradigms and the utilization of explainability, model compression, and acceleration techniques ensure the optimal performance on diverse learning methods and AI transparency to ensure our systems operate at their best. AviSense.ai has a patent application in PCT/EP2022/062954 “Methods for receiving, pro-cessing, and AR displaying 3D objects in real-time cooperative driving conditions for situational aware-ness”.
deeptraffic is an innovation-driven, deep-tech spin-off company of CERTH-HIT, providing solutions and technologies that enable dynamic traffic management as a service, focusing on connected and auto-mated vehicles. Traffic management encompasses complex operations and technologies, that require skilled personnel, field equipment and significant data processing. Until today traffic management systems do not fully exploit automation and intelligence capabilities for their daily tasks, while real-time data re-main underutilized. In parallel, vehicles come with increasing connectivity and automation capabilities. deeptraffic’s vision is a new traffic management paradigm, which caters for connected and automated vehicles, integrates, and exploits their capabilities in operational traffic management, and supports traffic management as a service. deeptraffic aims to act as a catalyst by providing an integrated solution to achieve smart and dynamic traffic management.
