The Remote Sensing Laboratory (RSLab) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) was established in 1987 and has significant expertise in EO and remote sensing, big data, open data, data analytics, environmental monitoring, computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, and pattern recognition, hyperspectral, multispectral, thermal, radar, LIDAR, and UAV data analysis. Involved in several EU and national research projects, NTUA has significant experience in designing, developing, and validating cutting-edge technology and innovative frameworks for a vast variety of engineering, environmental, agricultural, cultural heritage, security, and robotics applications. Over the last ten years, members of the RSLab team have published over 100 publications in scientific journals, books, and book chapters and over 300 presentations at top-rank international conferences. The RSLab consists of 37 scientists, i.e., 3 professors, 6 senior researchers/postdocs, 13 PhD students, and 17 M.Sc. students. The RSLab, a member of EARSeL, offers and manages several bachelor’s and master’s courses in EO, Geomatics, and Geospatial Data Science, while it actively supports students and researchers’ mobility (e.g., Erasmus+). Furthermore, the RSLab coordinates and participates as a scientific/technical manager in several EU and national research projects in space, ICT, environment, and agriculture, including EU H2020, EEA, MED, and the National Research Excellence Programme.
